FAQ: Our Products
Are all your products certified organic?
All fresh products on our website are certified organic and we never substitute organic products with non-organic products. If a fresh product does not have an organic certification, we do not stock it. A very small number of our grocery products are not certified organic - if this is the case we state this in the product description.
Are your organic fruit and organic vegetables locally grown?
Almost all of our fresh organic produce is grown within Australia. The only exceptions would be items like kiwifruit which sometimes come from NZ or dates which come from California. If on occasion a fresh item is imported, we will flag this in the product description on our website. Wherever possible we buy locally.
How do I know what’s in season?
Easy, just check our website. We update the organic fruit, organic vegetables and organic fresh herbs shopping aisles every week to show what is expected from organic growers each week.
You can also register for our newsletter - we send a weekly update showing what we expect to put in our mixed boxes the following week, so this is a good way to keep an eye on what is in season.
What if an item I order is out of stock?
Just be aware that part and parcel of fresh produce generally, and in particular the organic market, is unavailability of stock. We like to know that none of our produce is genetically modified or artificially created, but the flip side is that things are unavailable from time to time. A small price to pay for great, natural produce!
If you order one of our mixed boxes, and an item we planned to include in our boxes is out of stock, we will substitute this with a similar fresh item. So you always get a full, balanced complement of products in a mixed box.
If you have customized an order, you will not receive a substitute item unless you tell us to do so. Many of our regular customers are happy to receive substitutes of similar items if something is unavailable, so if for example silverbeet was unavailable, they would receive spinach, or if Gala apples were unavailable, they would receive Fuji apples. Let us know if you are happy to have any missing items substituted in this way.
