Mesclin (is a salad mix of assorted small, young salad leaves which originated in Provence, France. Mesclin is good up to 5 days in a plastic bag. Wash and blot dry just before using.
The name comes from Provençal (Southern France)—mescla, "to mix"—and literally means "mixture". The contents of the mix will vary and often contains leaves such as baby spinach, curly endive, dandelion, lamb's lettuce, mizuna, purslane, red chicory, red oak leaf lettuce, rocket, and romaine. Mesculin Mix will be a balance of sweet and bitter greens
Mesculin Mix Nutrition Information
Green leafy vegetables are a great source of important nutrients and phytonutrients. Omega 3's are found in the green leafies. Beta-carotene which is the precursor to Vitamin A is found in abundance in this mix. This supports the immune system, provides anti oxidant properties and is a great vision nutrient. The bitter herbs such as rocket support liver detoxification. Vitamin C, fibre, a large amount of water is also found in this mix.
