Eat by Season
Have you ever wondered which fruit and which vegetable belongs to which season? Is it possible to get apples all year round? Is it more nutritious to eat by the season? How can we get our fruits and vegetables all year round when they grow according to the season and climate?
Fruits and vegetables grow according to the season. That is, some grow better in the warmth and some grow better in the cooler temperatures. If we eat out foods with this in mind, then we are getting our nutrients down pat all year round as we will be eating according to the way in which nature intended.
As we make our way to the fresh fruits and vegetables section at the local supermarket, it is easy to notice the array of fruits and vegetables taking up an ample space in the store. Chances are, these are a mix of autumn foods, winter foods, spring foods and summer foods. In order to allow a mass display of these fresh fruits, they are stored in coolrooms for months on end so that the produce can be sold when that season is over and roll over to the next.
