This food is very low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin B6. Vitiman B6 is beneficial as a mood stabiliser so bananas are a great calming food.
Bananas are high in magnesium and potassium and low in sodium. They may be useful for the treatment of diarrhoea, stomach ulcers and ulcer damage. Bananas strengthen the intestinal lining and lowers blood cholesterol due to their fibre content.
Bananas act as a great mood stabiliser due to their Vitamin B6 content as well as tryptophan and magnesium. B6 is beneficial as a mood stabiliser. Bananas contain a large amount of tryptophan - an amino acid that is a precursor for serotonin (an inhibiting brain neurotransmitter also known as the mood and sleep hormone). This therefore makes banana a calming food and can be eaten before bedtime to benefit sleep. The magnesium content helps relax muscles.
